So, as you may have read before, I really love Go-Gurts. Yogurt in a tube, so easy to eat! Well, I just got back from Sams and picked up some more. This time, they are “Star-Wars” Themed, and they have a light-saber on them. *OOOooooo* AND!!! They. . . G-L-O-W! Yes, it is true, they glow in the dark. (just the packaging, not the actual yogurt, haha) Just to make sure they worked, I ran over and put it under a light, then ran to the closet and tried them. Amazing.
*yes, I do believe I have a 3rd grader stuck inside my body*
Anyways…
Time for Monday Recap!
So every Monday, I am going to try and do a re-cap of how Sunday’s church went! Usually I will talk about my Sunday School class, the lesson I taught them, and all the shennanigans they tried to pull that morning.
This Weeks “Power Verse”
“But If we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us…”
1 John 1:9
Yesterday we talked about SIN. And most importantly, about the wonderful fact that God will forgive us no matter what!
The Bible tells us that we have all sinned. From the moment we enter this world we are sinners in need of forgiveness. Pretty crazy right? How can you be a baby and have sin? But, that’s what the Bible tells us, that we all sinners in need of repentance. In Romans 3:23 it says, “For all have sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God.”
Oftentimes we classify our sins into “little sins” and “big sins,” without even realizing it. We may think lying, cheating, cursing, are “little sins,” and that murder, stealing, and drugs are “big sins.”
However, when we read the scriptures we discover that there is no such thing as “little sins” and “big sins.” The Bible tells us that all sins are the same to God. Three chapters later, in Romans 6:23, it tells us, “But the wages of SIN is Death…” It doesn’t say the wages of BIG SINS or the wages of LITTLE SINS, it just says sin. That’s pretty tough, huh? Any sin we commit, the Bible says is death.
Thankfully, God has given us away that we can escape sin, that we can be cleansed and made new every time we sin. You might think that something you’ve done is just too terrible for God to forgive. I understand! We personally will classify things as really bad, and not so bad, in our mind. We will beat ourselves up for things over and over again. The truth is though, that God will forgive us, no matter what the sin is!
Another astonishing fact, is that once God forgives us, He doesn’t keep reminding of us, in fact, he says they are far away from Him, buried in the sea of forgetfulness (to quote a song). Psalm 103:12 says “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
So remember, no matter what happens, God will forgive you, no matter what. However, YOU have to make the choice to as Him for forgiveness. It has to be a two way street. He loves us, and he wants us to be forgiven, but He needs us to humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness.

And that was our Sunday School lesson! If you want to read even more about the wonder of God’s grace, read John 8. Where the Priests brought a woman to Jesus, ready to stone her to death, because she was an adulteress. Read this chapter to see just what Jesus said to them, and to her.
