Hey everyone! So, every Monday, I am going to try and do a re-cap of how Sunday’s church went! Usually I will talk about my Sunday School class, the lesson I taught them, and all the shennanigans they tried to pull that morning. On the first Sunday of the month, however, it is “Family Sunday” at our church, so all the kids are in service with the adults. (Gives us teachers a nice break!)
This Sunday was our first Sunday in our “new” building! It is new to us, but it actually has been converted from a bar, to a church. Isn’t it crazy how God works? :)
God has blessed our church with this building. Our church had a rough year in 2011, with loosing our building, loosing our youth pastor to cancer, and many other unfortunate events. Through all of that, it has brought us closer together as a group, and closer to God.
We had a wonderful service yesterday, Pastor taught on “Addictions,” and how we need get rid of things we are addicted to, and focus more on God. For many it may not be addictions of drugs or alcohol, but there are addictions that are just as bad for us! Such as … media, our cell phones, video games, etc. I want to make sure that I am not addicted to these things, and make sure that I can put them down and take time for God every day. I want to make sure that I don’t get so consumed by busy work, that I miss out on the little things God wants me to see.
Also, yesterday, two of my Sunday School kids were baptized!! I am so grateful that this happened, and still praising God for it. I have seen these kids start coming to church and just want to learn more and more. They soak up everything I teach them every single Sunday. They are such precious kids, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for their lives!
I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday and are having a great start to your week!
