An update post of sorts. I have missed writing, a lot a lot. There has been so much going on though, and it makes it really hard to find the time.
I keep a journal beside my bed, its a nice big one (shout out to Marshalls!) Big, faux leather, feels nice and soft in my hands, cobalt blue with gold foil and says “Big Dreams” on the front. perfecttt
I am also a chronic notebookaholic. I have a problem, and I admit it. I want all of the notebooks. Other office supplies, not so much, I have a certain brand of pens that’s my favorite, and I stick with it. I have necessities that I use everyday for work like post-its, folders, and binder clips. But nothing shouts-out to me from the store shelves like notebooks. Anthropology, Target, Marshall’s, Paper-Source, honestly, I’m not picky. As long as its cute, I drool, and fight the urge to grab them all off the shelf like Kimmy Schmidt in Dylan’s Candy Store. True Story.
Here are some of my favorites, and I am
ashamed proud ashamed …. I am just telling y’all that I only own one out of these 6. And the other 5 might be in shopping carts online at the moment…
I attended a blog conference about a year ago where Ashley Hackshaw talked about writing from the heart, and told us that you had to make writing a discipline. Like going to the gym, starting a new routine, eating healthy, you have to work on it for it to stick. Sit down every day for 5 minutes and write. If nothing will come out, just sit there and think, or write down what you did that day. The next day, do it again, and again. Eventually you’ll be sitting writing for longer periods of time.
Do you write consistently? And are you notebook obsessed like I am, or is there another office goodie that’s got your attention?
Ughh I want all of those! So pretty!
I also hoard, i mean collect, notebooks!!! Problem is, Im terrible at writing in them. I love your parting note, I really hope I can do a better job of filling all the beautiful journals I have on the shelf! Thanks for sharing!
I love office supplies. It’s an awful addiction. The other day I bought a three hole punch and I was a little too excited.
