Wardrobe Transition to Autumn

fall fashion

I have been holding back on shopping recently. You wouldn’t be able to tell from my search history (hello online shopping!) But I’ve actually done really good. I went shopping in Colorado when we went there in July, but until the end of August, I had been staying away from shopping. Partly because I needed motivation to get healthy and fit again, partly to save money, and partly to save my dollars to shop for autumn! Plus I got some great deals this Labor Day weekend.

To break the shopping fast my first stop was New York & Company for some new jeans. They were having a buy one get one free sale- and I had a hard time only getting 2 instead of 8, erm I mean 4.  This is my go-to place for jeans. It used to be Old Navy, but after I tried on a pair last Winter at NY&Co and felt how soft they were, and oh so comfortable, that’s where I head to now.

Labor Day weekend was super busy for us! Friday night we had some friends come in town for the LSU game and spent the night and next morning with them. Tradition with them is chips & guacamole, games, and more recently, snuggles with their adorable 2 month old. (super cute smiley pic of him on IG)

Saturday was my Father in laws birthday. I baked a yummy cherry pie, complete with homemade pie crust. We went and ate dinner with the family, then stayed at their place that evening. Sunday morning/afternoon we had brunch at La Madelines. Their omelets are fabulous! I recommend egg whites, ham, swiss cheese, and spinach. *yummm* After that we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping. Where I scored that adorable cream sweater, navy top, and necklace.

Sunday was for sleeping in, afternoon gym sesh, outlet mall shopping, pizza and games! An awesome weekend, and I’m ready for the next. I tweeted out yesterday asking if it was Friday yet. After busy weekends with family friends, I find myself wanting a weekend with just be and hubs. Anyone else do that? We had such a fun weekend, but we crave our adventures with just the two of us.

How was your Labor Day weekend? Did you get any shopping in?

  1. Yeah, definitely not clothes shopping for myself for a little while!! Not really going anywhere (LOL) but if I do, I’m mixing maternity and non-maternity items to get me through this newly postpartum phase!

Hi! I'm Bree

In my day-job, I teach amazing individuals how to make money with their blog and social media! I started blogging back in 2010 as a hobby, and it turned into my dream job—helping women make their own money on their own terms. Blogging became a job that I love—now, I’m back to use this online journal as a fun place to document my life so I can look back 20 years from now and remember all the magical things.
